DEFINITIONThe hoop or the frame is made from plastic or metal with which fabric is gripped tightly between an inner ring and an outer ring. The hoop/frame is a nested set of rings that hold the material to be embroidered at tension, much like a hand embroidery hoop. Machine embroidery hoops, however, are designed to push the fabric and stabilizer to the bottom of the inner ring and hold it against the bed of the machine and have fixtures that allow the hoop to be attached to a machine?s pantograph. The Pantograph moves in x and y directions and creates the design of the embroidery.
