OptimTex multilingual glossary of terms

This Glossary is meant to offer the students support for learning key textile terms of the 6 educational modules in all the languages of the project.
DEFINITIONInterdigital electrodes (IDEs) are conductive parallel structures used as transducers in various technological and analytical applications, especially in the field of biological and chemical sensors. They can be also used as a sensing element for detecting water leakage. In our particular case, the IDEs consist of two long parallel conductive yarns with a narrow gap between them. The longer parallel conductive yarns and the narrower gap the sensitivity of the sensor is higher.
